Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
