David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
