Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
